The principal method will be a blended version of e-learning method. The students will have to attend classrooms at local universities. Recorded video tapes or CDs of European teachers will be shown to students. However, there will also be face- to-face teaching by local teachers, mainly to deal with students' questions and any difficulty they may have as well as workshop sessions. In addition, there are live sessions with European teachers to discuss essays and workshop assignments.

What would be the resources and teaching materials?

The resources and teaching materials will include distance-learning packages (videos or CD- ROM), structured texts or books, the internet, and a conventional library of text and reference books at the local universities.

Yes. Local tutors will deliver the same subjects taught by European teachers in classrooms of the local universities and face to face. Moreover, there will be live Internet sessions with European teachers.

Will you use local teachers?

Yes. Local teachers will be recruited from local universities to give face-to-face lectures and tutorials, and to deal with students' questions and problems.

Who are the local universities?
For the time being, three local universities have signed agreements to join the FUIW Chair Program. These universities are:
              Cairo University
              Damascus University
              Mansura University
How will you evaluate the students?

Students' performance will be assessed through written examinations. There will be a written examination on each subject, and all examinations will be rigorously and personally organized at the local universities by ITU personnel sent from London. There will be strict invigilation during examinations in the British tradition. Questions for written examinations will be set by the European teachers and validated by an eminent West European expert acting as the independent External Examiner. Examination books will be marked by local and European teachers. The function of the External Examiner will be to ensure that west European quality standards are achieved in all academic activities and by the graduating class. Moreover, there will be one essay for each module that affects the total marks of the students.

What happens if a student fails one or more subject(s)?

A fair scheme will be operated to deal with this. If a student fails two subjects in a given year, then he or she may be allowed to re-sit examinations in those subjects. But, if he or she fails more than two subjects, he or she may be required to repeat the entire year. Regulations of the local universities are paramount in setting up these criteria.

How can I get the required books?
We have given a list of booksellers that sell books online in our website. Some texts will be offered in the Blackboard. Moreover, local universities will have several copies of the main books in their library. However, it is student’s responsibilities to buy or find necessary books.
